FOCUS ON INNOVATION AND QUALITY ALWAYS GOES A LONG WAY

FOCUS ON INNOVATION AND QUALITY ALWAYS GOES A LONG WAY
India has clearly shown intent towards adopting solar energy to bring electricity to its furthest corners. The country has taken inspiring initiatives, shouldering reformations, facilitating industrial growth, and bringing investment to support the mission to utilize sustainable energy. Also, solar power has come a long way since 1977 when solar panels were priced at $77 per watt peak. Currently, the price for solar panels varies between $0.33-$0.36 cents/per watt peak, indicating more than 99% fall in prices. Moreover, the solar energy industry is growing in demand and in acceptance. Recently, the global solar industry has been adding close to 100 GW of capacity year over year and gaining more than $130 billion investment globally. Therefore, the argument can be made that this is the perfect time for India to move ahead and seize the opportunities (energy reliance, manufacturing industry growth, increased export revenue) that solar brings. As I have said already, while the intent for green energy adoption is present in India, we still have to remember that solar energy only has 8% share in the country’s total installed energy capacity.

Even with the Government’s new plans such as-
  • Investing INR 100 lakh crore for infrastructure development
  • ‘One Nation, One Power’ grid implementation
  • Creating ‘Manufacturing, Repair and Operate’ (MRO) industry
  • Making India a PV Cells and module manufacturing hub
  • Supporting growth of EV and energy storage industry
It is not enough to prepare India to seize the solar energy demand in and out of the country.
Focus on Innovation is Necessary
Mass adoption of green energy in India is the only way for us to reduce fossil fuel import costs (~$100 billion), facilitate industrial growth, restore climate, and claim export markets. The most important component that can assist in mass adoption of green energy is innovation. Not just giants like China or the U.S. even emerging economies like South Korea, Vietnam are investing huge amounts of money to enhance solar panel technologies through R&D and brewing competition between solar panel manufacturers (Top Runner program) to speed up technological evolution for solar.
For example,
China invested $40.4 bn in solar power in 2018. If we are to consider that more than 60% of the world’s solar panels are made in China, it is easy to comprehend that China is critically invested in continuously improving solar energy technology, to arrest global demand.
China’s industrial policy takes credit for such focus on innovation. As a result, China recorded 150,000 renewable energy patents in 2016, 29% of the global total and the world’s top 11 solar panel manufacturers are now based in mainland China.
The U.S. has always been the forerunner in solar technology, considering that the U.S. first discovered the solar cell. In addition, the U.S. Department of Energy and Spectrolab invented the most efficient solar cell technology with a light-to-electricity conversion efficiency of 40% in 2007.
Understanding that the estimated value of solar power is projected to reach $422 bn by 2022, developing countries like Kenya invested $1.3 bn in renewable energy technologies a few years ago.
I believe that this clearly portrays how focusing on solar manufacturing, improving infrastructure, mandating best in class product use, and enforcement of quality guidelines in the solar energy industry can lead to innovation, which is important for faster adoption of solar.
Innovation in Technology
The major part of solar innovation has to be technological. Fortunately, solar power technology is much simplified than that of fossil fuel technology. Considering the rising population (7.6 bn currently), it is easy to comprehend that innovation is necessary to reduce space requirements, increase efficiency and reliability to make solar a mainstream energy source.
For that to happen Government of India needs to focus towards cross-country solar technological exchange (ISA is a decisive move by India in this regard), as agreement of technological collaboration will lead to rapid solar energy growth. Investing in technological development is also important, as it will build a better infrastructure for renewable energy development.
Besides, technology is not the only area where we need innovation to support solar. India must focus on establishing better financial support and solutions in the solar financing sector. The global private sector has shown interest to invest in solar R&D in India. However, flexible and innovative financial strategies are needed to enhance investor interest and allow foreign financial help commitments to turn into reality. Strategies like- providing tax deductions on R&D spend by solar power companies will surely encourage more investment in solar technology development.
Focusing on Quality
Focusing on quality is important to assure reliability and energy security from solar, which are the only way to increase green energy adoption in India.
Indian project developers rely on “self-defined” quality criteria to import more than 90% of solar modules for the domestic industry. Since modules contribute to more than 55% of the CAPEX required to build the solar power plant, the risk associated with poor module quality is therefore significant. Especially so, as the outflow in forex due to module import is several billion dollars every year.
The Government of India has recognised the risk and introduced the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification to ensure the quality of solar module used for projects in India. While it is an honest attempt to mitigate risks associated with poor quality, there are several reasons why these particular objectives are currently not being met.
What India needs immediately is a strong Government effort to drive quality in a more holistic manner rather than blindly follow the BIS certification route. Development of new standards for module testing for India-specific climatic condition is the need of the hour. Close monitoring of quality control processes on the shop floor in the Indian domestic manufacturer site is an assured way to confirm 100% quality assurance. Specific quality plans for mass manufacturing needs to be followed and deployed on shop floors in order to make this happen. Finally, a sure way to support domestic solar power manufacturing industry is to develop a robust and sustainable domestic supply chain, which will provide quality materials for manufacturing modules at competitive rates.
Way Forward
Therefore, as it appears through our discussion, innovation and quality focus is of great importance for India to finally accept solar energy as the reliable mainstream energy source we want it to be. The quicker the green energy shift has taken effect, the better it would be for India and the world. Moreover, the only way to make it happen is through investment, policy support, and taking immediate action to improve solar quality and encourage innovation.

kshay Kumar, 25, knew his journey would be tough. But he thought he was prepared.
Kshay Kumar, 25
In 2012, after an engineering degree and a oneyear stint with a multinational, Kumar felt he needed a makeover. "I didn't want to be stuck with civil engineering all my life. I also wanted to see the world and explore new options," he recalls. Doing an MBA from a premier institute was on his mind.
He did think of the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and the Xavier School of Management, but the desire for global exposure pushed him to explore options overseas. Kumar settled for a oneyear post-graduate course at the Imperial University in the UK, which he financed via an education loan. "Visa rules and the bleak job market there did weigh on my mind. But I had a feeling I could manage it," he says. He had confidence in Imperial's good global ranking, its alumni network and his own hard work.
Kumar began his hunt for a job virtually from the day he landed in the UK. He studied hard to get good grades but worked even harder to find a good job. By tapping into networks of his alumni, friends and family, Kumar reckons he would have reached out to over 200 firms during that year. "It didn't work. My good grades made me eligible for plenty of jobs, but my non-European Indian passport was the problem," he shrugs.
Kumar moved back to India late last year and has just landed a job with a private equity firm. "All my plans have been delayed by five years," he says. Close to half his salary today goes in paying monthly instalments on his education loan.

The World isn't Flat
The West has a problem. Its economy is in a funk, not enough jobs are being created, cautious companies aren't hiring too many, and worried governments — from the US to the UK — are raising visa barriers for foreigners to work in their countries.
Young Indians, who went overseas for education, are facing a tough time finding a job. Many like Kumar have returned home. And some are now casting the net wider — looking for jobs from the US to Hong Kong and Singapore — or settling for sub-optimal options. Rupa Chanda, professor, IIM-Bangalore, who has worked on reports on international student mobility, says visa and immigration is the biggest factor affecting Indian students' decisions.
The US, the UK and Australia — the three most popular destinations for Indians seeking global education — have seen the number of Indian students come down over the past few years (see Out of Favour?). Remember, many Indian students take hefty education loans to finance their studies abroad. While many would find decent jobs back in India that would not help much as these students need dollar salaries to comfortably service their loan. This is taking its toll. "Overseas education is costly. Many Indian students are doing a cost-benefit analysis to figure how to recoup their investments overseas and putting off their plans ," explains New York-based Rahul Choudaha, chief knowledge officer, World Education Services (WES), a non-profit organization that provides credential evaluations for international students planning to study or work in the US and Canada.
But to be fully able to understand how this trend will play out, one must understand the backdrop. A big generational shift is taking place among the students looking for overseas education. Many of them now are India's liberalization children, who have grown up post-1991 and lived in an increasingly global world with fewer barriers.
So in many ways this is their first brush with a world with barriers. Many are also children of globetrotting well-paid senior corporate executives who think differently about education, exposure and investing in a world-class education. "These parents understand the long-term rewards of a world-class education. I see many of my friends taking their children to these top campuses after they pass out from school to give them a first-hand feel," says Hema Ravichandar, strategic HR expert and a former HR head of Infosys.

Woes on Foreign Shores
Both of Ravichandar's children have studied overseas. Her daughter, Aditi, is doing her MBA from Wharton in the US and her son Nikhil, 22, completed his Bachelor's in economics from Warwick in the UK. Nikhil chose the UK over India because of the flexibility available in picking courses — he wanted to do economics with law which was impossible in India with its rigid course structures. "Education in India is not very research-driven and multicultural," he adds.
But during his stay there, the UK revoked the two-year work permit for foreign graduates. Thus he needed a firm job offer to stay on after graduation. This was difficult since he was particular about the kind of work. "I wanted a job in economic consulting," he says. Unable to get that he preferred to do a postgraduate programme instead. While he did not take any loan, for many of his classmates, who had taken a hefty education loan, things were difficult.
Now, Nikhil is back in India getting some interesting exposure at a few start-ups in Bangalore, India's Silicon Valley. He is contemplating a startup of his own. "This is the best time to take the risk and explore it," he says.
Across the Atlantic, Sujoyini Mandal, in her 20s, offers another peek into the odds that Indian students face overseas. After her graduation from Jadavpur University, Mandal went to Singapore for her postgrad and worked with a think-tank there. Life was good but since she had always yearned for a degree from a world-class university, she applied for a Master's at Harvard's Kennedy School.
For two years, she deferred her admission as she did not get any financial aid. She saved some money and, with a bit of aid, finally took the plunge in 2011. Foreign students in her college face an education loan cap of $30,000 ($15,000 a year), she says, making things even more difficult Mandal started looking for a job when she graduated in May 2013. But mandates that fitted her needs and aspirations were not easy to come by. She did land a contract with the World Bank but that was short term, uncertain and had no medical cover. Last month Mandal finally landed a job with an investment bank.
Despite such struggles, there are many reasons why the pursuit of overseas education among young Indians is unlikely to die down any time soon.

The Demographic Bulge
Every year, around 800,000 Indian students reportedly go overseas for their education. This costs the country close to $15 billion of forex annually, estimates industry lobby Assocham. If students are going overseas for education, it's because India has a problem of both capacity and quality. The country has one of the world's largest education infrastructures: 600 universities and 34,000 colleges with 17 million students enrolled and 5 million students graduating every year. But India is also witnessing a demographic bulge — it has perhaps the world's largest young population. Experts estimate that some 100-million-odd students will seek higher education over the next decade.
The capacity problem is compounded by the quality issue. About 70% of the capacity in India is of poor standards. At the other end of the spectrum, competitive intensity at the premier colleges is so stiff that it is often easier for bright students to get admission in Ivy League colleges in the US and the UK than in the IITs, IIMs and even top colleges in Delhi University.
All this coincides with the rise of India's aspirational upper middle class. Over the past two decades, many first-generation Indians have risen up the corporate hierarchy and are financially well-off. These welltravelled, financially stable corporate executives desire the best for their children. "They are looking for the best educational experience. They know it is a life-long asset. Indian premier colleges do not have the capacity and are very rigid," says TV Mohandas Pai, chairman, Manipal Global Education. Pai's son studied at Stanford University in the US and now works for a start-up in Silicon Valley.
This aligns well with the global trend of rising international mobility of students. According to Institute of International Education (IIE), since 2000, the number of students leaving home in pursuit of higher education has increased by 65%, totalling about 4.3 million students globally. What is more interesting is that the share of students from the developing countries in this pie is rising — it moved up from 54.8% to 69% between 1999 and 2009.

India vs China
Not surprisingly, the world's two most populous and powerful emerging countries — China and India — send the largest number of students overseas. But China has rapidly shifted gears to overtake India.
Consider what's taking place in the US. In 2000-01, India topped the list of international students by country, with 66,836 against China's 63,211. But by 2009-10 China had overtaken India. In 2012-13, China sent 236,000 students; India was nudging the 97,000 mark. While the number of Chinese students has been growing in double digits of late, that of Indian students has been sliding. To understand why that is happening, it is important to analyze the profile of students going overseas from both the countries.
Chinese students going to the US are evenly split between undergraduate (40%) and postgraduate programmes (44%). But Indian students are heavily skewed towards postgraduate programmes (55%) with just 13% at the undergraduate level. Indian students are also unique as over 60% are in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, maths) category. Bear in mind that historically, postgraduate and STEM programmes offer more financial support than undergraduate and non-STEM programmes.
"The decline in Indian students is directly related to the 'Strivers' , who have been putting their plans on hold due to increasing cost of studying abroad which in turn was triggered by economic uncertainty and currency devaluation," says Choudaha.
“印度留学生的下降与”奋勉族“群体相关(根据全球教育服务处的研究,指的是资源少的发奋者),这个群体由于海外留学费用的增加导致他们搁置了自己的留学计划,而经济不稳定以及货币贬值引发了海外留学成本的提高,”Choudaha说。
A majority of Indian students arrives at the Master's level and funds education by taking loans as financial aid from colleges has dried up. So, while the majority of Indian students go for education loans, Chinese students are supported by their families. According to a research by WES, 47% of Indian respondents report loans as one of the primary sources of funding as compared with only 3% of Chinese.
Chinese students, in contrast, are "explorers" (experience seekers), says Choudaha. Often the only-child of financially well-off parents, they have the financial wherewithal to study abroad and are under less pressure to find a job there. But change may be afoot. Some Indian students could make the transition from 'strivers' to 'explorers' and Choudaha expects more and more Indian students — most of them children of well-off senior executives — to go overseas at the undergraduate level. Not so dependent on financial aid, he also sees many more Indians exploring new interdisciplinary fields, beyond STEM. Even in the STEM category, experts feel that Indian students will be the biggest beneficiary as the Obama government eases rules for this critical segment in future.

Lessons from China
Two decades back, China faced problems similar to those India faces today — its higher education had both capacity and quality issues. Since then China has worked hard to upgrade its educational institutions. It has two programmes — Project 211 and Project 985. The former aims to make 100 Chinese universities world class in the 21st century; this will help China churn out world-class trained professionals to push economic growth. These universities are expected to set national standards for education quality that can be replicated by others.
Project 985 started more than a decade back and is an attempt to build China's own Ivy League colleges in the 21st century. In the first phase the project included nine universities. The second phase, launched in 2004, includes 40-odd universities. The projects have been backed by significant investments. According to a New York Times report, China is investing $250 billion a year in human capital.
The dragon country's efforts are now bearing fruit. Many Chinese universities are climbing up the global ranks. Two Chinese universities have made it to the top global 50 in the Times Higher Education report. India has none. In the top 500, 16 Chinese universities make the cut against seven from India. Mobile international students are taking note. A decade back, China was hardly on anybody's radar.
Today, it is the third largest education hub in the world after the US and the UK with 3.28 lakh international students, according to IIE. By 2020, it hopes to host 500,000 international students. Even Singapore is targeting 1.5 lakh foreign students by 2015. In contrast, India was home to just 27,000 international students in 2012. China is aware that to push innovation and realize its economic ambitions, it must be able to attract top talent — in its colleges and workforce.
Also, in virtually every key statistic, the world today is seeing a shift from the West to the East. From economic GDP to consumption power, MNCs across the board are looking at Asia and the world's two most populous nations. This shift is happening demographically too. But in the education space, the West still dominates.
Of the world's top 100 universities, 46 are in the US. Seven of top 10 universities are in the US. Asia has just 11 in the top 100. "It is difficult to replicate what US has done with its universities to 2emerge as an innovation hub," says Pai. So, ambitious and aspirational Indians will continue to look overseas for education. But if India has to realize its potential, it must invest heavily in building world-class institutions in the country — the China way.

Tempcool Mukhopadhyay (India) 1 Day ago An excellent article. Appropriate and very well timed. Issue lies with inadequate job creation in India compared to passing out rate and all sorts of reservation quota for the "privileged" groups. Also unscrupulous marketing by planting misleading information by the education institutes of developed countries and their Indian agents.
Guramandeep Singh (Mexico) 1 Day ago 67 years after Independence, we are still stuck to providing reservation quotas in institutes of higher education. The recent Supreme Court order puts 27% reservation for OBCs which along with that of SCs and STs brings the total reservation to 49.5%. Here is the breakup of IIM-A seats: General 182 Non creamy OBC 104 ---- Schedule caste 58 ---- Schedule tribe 29 ---- Differently-abled 12 ---- Total 385 --- I have read various comments touching upon patriotism towards India to youngsters being crazy and the need to enlighten them. Reservation for a certain group is discrimination against the other groups. So ask yourself, is our system really fair? Should we not be looking at this objectively and trying to solve the root cause of the problem instead of commenting upon the phenomenon which is a result of a messed up education system at the behest of corrupt politicians?

ILA (Chennai) replies to Guramandeep Singh 1 Day ago Dear Learned Singh. This article has nothing to do with reservation. Reservation is about affirmative action (in US parlance). Trying to give some sort of equal opportunity to people (98%) who were subjugated, denied education, and exploited by so called Forward Castes in India who constitute only 2% of the total population for millenium. This reservation is in vogue for only 60 years how can this equation be achieved in such a short span of time. Now the Forward Castes are slowly waking up and cramming for their share in the available piece of cake. If heat is felt for this itself then what should the subjugated feel for having been so for a millenium in the name of MANU SMRITIs laws? People who believe so are as you had rightly (?) pointed out are HYPROCRITS and prisoners of their own conscience.

My opinion is that if one works hard in Indian top universities, they can acquire global standards. Also all the premier institutes in US are putting their course material in the web and hence, by going thru them one can acquire high knowledge.

I have heard and researched about LIC Policies, Post Office Deposits and Stock Market Investments with Portfolio Management as well as Mutual Fund Investing. Out of the following I've narrowed out the LIC Jeevan Labh Plan, The Post Office Deposit plan and some Stock Market Investments with PM as I already have someone really brilliant handling my portfolio.
I know that the LIC Policy and the Post Office deposit has an upper ceiling limit on how much I can invest and hence just these wont suffice. From the above mentioned amount coming due, I would like to secure my life insurance, health insurance which interim could be an investment with a payout down the years. I would also like to setup an emergency fund and keep a certain amount of money in my regular savings account for monthly expenses.
I know its best to divide my investments into long, medium and short term investments.
As of right now my liabilities would be about 7 Lakh, and Monthly expenses are about 4 Lakh. I own land assets and do intend on purchasing a house/apartment in Bangalore, India.
So my question is:
  1. Where can I invest the funds at hand to get a monthly income between 1 - 5 Lakhs?
  2. Other than investing in India, I am able to invest in American Stocks, Stock Options and Forex, is this good ? I do see high returns as I have invested before and yielded.
I don't mind the risks of investment to a certain degree.
Please suggest investment ideas and plans and ask me any question that may help you give me sound advice.

Regards
Jacob

DENT, making more than just a dent.

DENT is an absolutely revolutionary idea. The first ever Mobile Data Exchange!
Telecom, a multi-billion dollar market, highly competitive as well, yet DENT found a backdoor that might just allow them a giant piece of that ever-growing cake (yes 5G is just around the corner and the Internet-Of-Things becomes more tangible on a daily basis, it’s growing indeed). But not just DENT, YOU will have a taste as well! So you better start polishing those spoons of yours! The cake is real and it’s here!
Wow, that sounds like poor eccentric marketing, and yet, not a word untrue. Let’s just keep the hyped language for now, and see where it’ll take us.
DENT wishes to effectively liberate the mobile data market, enabling anyone to buy, sell and donate data through the Ethereum blockchain. But what does this mean? This means Telco customers will no longer be subordinates of the industry, force-fed high fees on data useage. No no, in a democratic way, by bidding on an exchange, data will be managed by the customers itself! DENT allows data-users to ‘unionize’, become an entity to be recognized by the Telco Moguls, ensuring fair pricing and high efficieny in data distribution.
The exchange will be run by a universal cryptocurrency, the DENT token; and pricing will be transparant and dynamic. Now you either pay for data you don’t use, or if you use more data than your data-plan you pay excessive fees. Moreover, using data abroad can increase your bill by... The amount that makes you look like lemonjuice just replaced your eye-fluid. Now, you’re drawing the short end of the stick regardless.
DENT however wishes to localize data much like wifi-hotspots today. There is no here and there, there is just everywhere. And you pay for what you use, not for what you don’t.
Sounds great, but you’re a little lost? No problem, in a nutshell DENT is this: it is a universal currency for mobile data between you (the customer) and Telco providers. This means you’re no longer subject to a single provider, but you pay as you go, and only for what you use. You always pay the best price available, directed by market supply- and demand, and you never have to think about borders again.
You are now free to roam, without scary roaming costs when abroad, between the many Telco providers in his world.
So that’s DENT and it will make most than just a dent in mobile data history.
If you wish to become part of this already, read on. But before you do, know that I’m not affiliated with DENT in any way. I’m just an enthusiast sharing his enthusiasm. Yes I will invest in DENT, but have nothing to gain from you doing so. I’m just happy to have you along for the ride.
It’s pretty clear, the ambitions of DENT are grand. So you need to question its possibility, its roots in reality.
For starters, DENT has quite a team working on it.
•Tero Katajainen (Founder and CEO) is a serial entrepreneur and an experienced software architect who founded the predecessor company of DENT Wireless in 2014 to create a trading platform for FOREX (foreign currency exchange trading) with AI components for the behavioral analysis of markets.
• Mikko Linnamäki, (Co-Founder) is also Co-Founder of DOVECOT Oy, the company behind the Open-Source IMAP Server DOVECOT which has an install base of over 4 million servers and a 72% global IMAP server market share. source: http://openemailsurvey.org
• Andee Vollmer (Co-Founder) is the Mobile specialist in the team with 12 years experience on Mobile Apps, starting with Symbian in 2005 and today on iOS and Android
• Michael Wirth (Director of Payment Systems and GM UK & Ireland) has 20 years of experience in large-scale transaction projects, amongst others he was Director of Products and Services at eNett International, a Travelport company and leading specialist for payment solutions in the travel industry.”
• Ville Sundell (Smart Contract Specialist), who has pioneered smart contract based legal entities, being the first to create companies solely on the Ethereum blockchain without any human intervention through Etherprises LLC.
• Dr. Rainer Deutschmann (Advisor) brings in 20 years of telco and tech senior executive experience in companies like McKinsey, Deutsche Telekom and Reliance. Most recently, as Chief Product & Innovation Officer, Rainer with his fellow leadership team launched Reliance Jio and acquired 100 million customers within six months. Jio disrupts the telco landscape to democratize mobile broadband for the 1.3 billion people in India.
So we’ve got experienced people proven to be succesful working on DENT. But we all know you can’t build a castle with dust, you need gold, silver, cirspy cash. And that’s where the ICO (Initial Coin Offering) comes in.
DENT will have an ICO soon starting July 12 15:00 GMT until July 26 15:00 GMT. Buying the DENT tokens will support their project which is doomed to succeed, and get you DENT tokens on the cheap.
The current ICO climate is the following, if a project is mildly interesting, mildly guaranteed to succeed, it’ll sell out long before the original ICO’s end. Here we have a revolutionary project, with quite the success factor, attached, meaning they will sell their maximum amount of tokens. These are 70.000.000.000 DENT tokens. The price is 400.000 tokens per 1 ETH (say currently +- 350 dollars). The people buying the first 14 billion tokes receive a 10% bonus and the next 7 billion 5%. I’ll let you calculate for yourself but this means DENT will have approximately 60 million dollars to achieve their goal!
For those familiar with the world of cryptocurrency, why not acquire 150 million like Bancor did? I think because they take what they need, and perhaps a little ‘then some’. This makes the project a lot more legit to me, and if you’re an investor a lot more interesting. Because the upswing the DENT tokens are bound to have in due time, are yours for the taking.
To sum it all up, I recognize DENT as a good investment for both a reasonably quick flip or a long hodl. But more importantly I recognize a project that has great practical value for mobile data consumers worldwide. The idea behind DENT isn’t something we’d all like to see become reality, it seems inevitable in the light of what blockchain tech offer. The boons of the blockchain are deep and wide, and are adopted more and more as it matures and its user base grows. And it has definitely reached a point where one can harvest the greater crops. This is what DENT does, with one big swoop it revolutionizes mobile data. Now that’s a big harvest!
I will have a tiny stake in this revolution, and if you wish to have too see the links below.

Bitcoin, a Global Reserve (would love feedback)

It feels like we’re about month six into an indefinite branding war with the mainstream financial community and even some of our own over whether bitcoin per se, or blockchain technology (sans deflationary currency) is the winning fintech innovation from 2009. And admittedly, there are good arguments against bitcoin becoming a legitimate currency — or even a rails of payments used by anyone who prefers to keep their bank account intact and stay on the right side of the law.
For instance, there is still institutional fear that the technology is infeasible to use for payments because it’s impossible to reverse charges, and difficult to surveil the bitcoin network for bad actors and black market transactions (both problems seem solvable by bitcoin startups). There is wariness to buy-in to the “bitcoin as a backbone” argument where institutions hide the currency and use the tech and its token behind the scenes, mainly because bitcoin is still (according to its own chief scientist) in a beta release. The security of the network is still relatively weak, and hundred billion dollar multi-nationals aren’t going to invest in a network that might cease to exist in five years without any clear contingency plans.
As a Bitcoin permabull, these short term challenges don’t bother me. But I list them because they are rational concerns and ones that will take years to quell at an institutional level. In the meantime, you’ll see dabbling in alternative protocols like Ripple and Stellar and Ethereum and Hyperledger, and (gasp) these same institutions will even fork open-source code and make it their own. (Michael Lewis writes in Flash Boys about the laughable degree to which Goldman makes open-source code their own “IP”.) I think Tim Swanson’s paper nailed it (for the most part) and that this experimentation with blockchain-not-bitcoin is perfectly fine.
Bitcoin might not ultimately make it as a currency in the world’s largest economies, and it might prove to be a pretty poor store of value if its corresponding tech is relegated to second-tier status in favor of a more government/bank friendly protocol. With that in mind, competition is healthy and new ideas are welcome when it comes blockchain tech, I think.
But there is a huge caveat.
The longer that bitcoin survives, the more likely it is to disrupt a large swath of developing economy currencies. I’m increasingly convinced that Wences et al have been right all along with bitcoin as a value store (reserve) emerging as its hidden-in-plain-sight killer app. In a stroke of irony, we might be looking at 50–50 odds that bitcoin’s character arc goes from cryptoanarchist currency, to commodity that powers 1.0 financial technology, and back to functional currency reserve for much of the developing world. And if that’s where it settles for the medium-term, it would still be a phenomenal outcome.
Consider: Bitcoin inflation slows to ~4% by 2017 — reasonable by most any economist’s modern standards and not too far off of the target thresholds for most central banks. This is also a predictable 4%. Yes, that figure belies the forex swings that bitcoin will inevitably experience as a young currency, but the rate of seignorage will still be quite low. And less new bitcoin money creation will inevitably reduce sell-side pressure from miners as a percentage of total network transactions. That could and probably will help the market stabilize enough to price more and cheaper derivatives to hedge out volatility for those who don’t want it.
Consider: Most developing economy currencies suck, and will be debased into oblivion within two decades, if not much sooner. If you believe your current currency has a 50% chance of being completely destroyed in the next ten years, and think bitcoin has a 50% chance of being alive at all, it makes sense to buy bitcoin with your less sexy currency. It probably only takes one country to start buying bitcoin for their central bank (as if it’s gold), for others to follow suit in rapid succession. (FWIW, Gyft’s Vinny Lingham, who has proven to have an uncanny knack for picking the price trends that matter, agrees with me.)
Consider: Dozens of countries around the world already operate on a two currency system with the US dollar as a viable alternative to their local options. Economists’ dismissiveness of bitcoin as a potential reserve currency on the grounds that “governments and their central banks would never cede that kind of monetary control” ignores pretty much all of the evidence that already exists which shows how it is an extremely rare luxury to live in a country with a central bank that has any flexibility whatsoever with respect to monetary policy. i.e. if a country’s central bank stores dollars and gold, it might like BTC.
Consider: Not even the US dollar is likely to be the world’s reserve currency in 20 years. I have begged on social media for some smart economist to refute this, but none have so far. It’s easy to look at our surging economy and think “we’re still the best”, but China’s economy will dwarf our own by 2040. India will likely eclipse us as well. And its a slam dunk that frontier markets will continue to command a larger chunk of the global GDP pie. (Europe is still probably screwed.) In a world where the US is the second or third largest economy in the world and commands 15% of its GDP rather than 25%, who honestly thinks the greenback is going to be the only currency reserve? (That’s not rhetorical, by the way. Send me a counter-argument and I’ll reprint it.)
If all that is true, then it follows: In a world where even the mack daddy of all fiat reserve currencies is dethroned, and a neutral, stable, predictable alternative exists, some countries are going to start taking a chance on bitcoin. It really only takes one successful experiment to create a domino effect, and those tier II (and III and IV) government currencies will collectively fade to black. The longer bitcoin survives, the longer we have to build the robust infrastructure to support a fully functional bitcoin ecosystem that could swoop in to support an entire small country. All we need to do is stay heads down and wait for one regional storm to brew in a world that is frankly already plagued by currency wars.
In a stroke of irony, policymakers and Keynesian economists might finally see the “bancor” global reserve currency that their idol John Maynard Keynes proposed 80 years ago.
Only it will sneak up on them from the frontier. And it will be completely beyond their control.

Philosophy & Introduction — Inziderx
HI, in my previous article, I explained the “Reasons, Concepts and Vision” of InziderX Exchange.
In this article, I want to dive into the white paper and explain the philosophical reasons that surround the birth of the idea.
This world, our reality, the human experience we live in, has always been tied to a historical epoch, where some characteristics weigh more than others.
The 21st century battle of what remains of capitalism and communism, after two world wars. And now we are confronted with what previously would be perceived as an Orwellian reality by the people who lived in the 1950s.
It is the game of Hegel: thesis / anti — thesis / synthesis.
The human condition has involved since, but it seems that we always want more of life, a better condition for all.
The blockchain is a tool, which has no opinion on these considerations by simply avoiding the subject, jumping over it; acting as if these realities were those of yesterday.
In fact, it may be the opposite, the blockchain takes the best in each of these concepts: capitalism — the incentive, the community — compassion, and makes its own synthesis! By passing what may have been intend for it.
Satoshi Nakamoto is still anonymous, the BTC the new world currency, part of that might seem fony. There is obviously more under the subject.
An watchful eye can see Kings and Queens moving on the board.
From the InziderX white paper:

Abstract
Satoshi Nakamoto; the name itself looks like a pseudonym. As long as his identity is unknown, it will be impossible to know what his true intentions were when he made the Bitcoin code available to the public in 2009 — based on two technologies already in existence at the time: hascash and PGP but with the addition of an ingenious solution to the problem of double spending. The message included in the genesis block could be a clue: “The Times 3 January 2009 Chancellor on the second bailout point for banks”. Has he achieved his goal?
Introduction
The empire is on fire, the new game in town is the “digital assets”.
After the announcement of the future XBT, it was official. Despite the blame on this new intangible asset, the biggest players in the “old” market are silently positioning themselves on the new one.
On February 26, 2018, Bloomberg published an article claiming that Circle Financial Ltd, funded by the world’s largest investment bank, Goldman Sach, purchased the Poloniex stock exchange for $ 400 million.
The bank JPMorgan, whose famous director Jamie Dimon has repeatedly discredited those who invest in Bitcoin and called this technology a fraud, recently invented its own system of decentralized transactions named Quorum — a modified copy of the Ethereum code.
Blythe Master, a global investment personality, became CEO of Digital Asset Holding LLC in 2015, a financial technology company opened in 2014 to develop blockchain technologies for the entire investment industry, financial services such as: as market infrastructure providers. and the banks.
Ripple and his wealthy director, already present themselves as Bitcoin for banks.
For a watchful eye, the examples are not lacking and all he needs is to read between the lines to know what will follow.
After the collapse of the 2008 real estate market and the rescue of banks by the FED, the Dow Jones index has been inflated by more than 300% from its low of 6626 in 2008 to 26 667 in 2018. The Heng Seng of 200% from 10,600 to 33,642, the DAX 125% from 3458 to 7781 and Nekkei 245% from 6988 to 24171. These parabolic increases were financed by public funds but especially by the dilution of the value of world currencies, called quantitative easing.
The dollar USD, like the Denarius at the time of the Romans, dies while being diluting. In fact, all world currencies have only 5% of their purchasing power of 100 years ago, if not less. But when the price of foreign exchange does not drop dramatically because all countries are playing the same game, it is difficult to track its true purchasing power.
The currency war is very real and the side effects are disastrous. In India, the government only informed its population four hours in advance of the elimination of 500 and 1000 rupees, which represents 80% of its emission. Leaving its population, 95% of whom use paper money, in a dead end.
After inflating and diluting what might be, the money invested in the currency market and the stock market funds are looking for a new playing field; the old earth is burned, empty.
Indeed, the correction of 70% of the BTC price in January 2018 is an excellent level of long-term purchase and there is more reason to wait for a better moment to transfer the value. Was it planned?
At the beginning of 2017, the capitalization of digital assets was approximately 27 billion US dollars and 180 billion US dollars mid-year. In 2018, it is now about 800 billion US dollars and more than 325,000 transactions are processed in a day on the Bitcoin blockchain.
The daily volume on the New York Stock Exchange is about 75 million dollars in transactions, Forex exchange market volume is about 4.5 billion US dollars.
If we consider that part of the volume of traditional markets will be gradually transferred to this new market, its development is just beginning.

In the next article, I’ll cover in more detail the exchange features — we had enough philosophy for now!
